Antonelli's Cheese Classes

( From the Antonelli's Website )

We love talking cheese; it's one of the best aspects of our jobs! Therefore, we regularly offer in store classes, in which our cheesemongers will be your guides for the evening sharing stories, histories, and lots and lots of cheese samples. Accompaniments include bread, olives, and nuts, as other pairings. At the end of the class, we'll happily fresh-cut any cheese or other item sampled that evening for your purchase so you can recreate the evening at home with your friends.

Each tasting class is $35 per person (plus processing fees). Tickets for our Cheese Tastings or other events may be purchased online through our calendar of events page. You may sign up for a maximum of four seats and please note that ticket purchases are non-refundable. (If your party is larger than four guests, contact us for information on private parties and tastings.) Please note that children and infant friendly events will be marked on the calendar of events page.

CHEESE 101: SEVEN STYLES OF CHEESE

Our original, and most popular class is "Cheese 101: Seven Styles of Cheese." Our cheesemongers hand select one cheese from each of the seven styles that represent a robust and varied tasting to showcase the differences between milk types, and styles. Because the cheeses are not chosen until the morning of the class, all evenings are unique. We hope that all of your questions will be answered but know that the more you learn about cheese, the more you will want to learn.
A TASTE OF PLACE

This class features a country specific theme that rotates throughout the year where we will discuss the history of the regions. Our cheesemongers will select cheese that represent the classic flavors of the area and offer pairings that complement and accentuate those tastes.

      Guided Tasting
This is a derivation of our Cheese 101: 7 Styles of Cheese class and is perfect for those who really want to get intimate with cheese and learn more about it. We’ll guide you through the seven styles of cheese, tasting an example from each style. Along the way, we’ll pull out various other pairings that create a whole new cheese experience. We’ll also provide sparkling water, bread, olives, and nuts. Based on the cheese selections we make the morning of your event, we’ll choose a white and red wine that pair beautifully with the cheese, as well as ideal beer pairings. If you’d like to purchase our wine or beer pairings at the Cheese Shop prior to the event, we’ll provide it at a 10% discount for 6 bottles or 15% discount for 12 or more bottles. Or, you may bring your own beverages for a set-up fee. This event is $50 per person, for a minimum of 10 guests.

      Social Hour Tasting
This is the ideal cheese tasting experience for those groups who are looking for something more casual and abbreviated than our Guided Tastings. It can be the perfect event in and of itself or you can add this on to a Space Rental. This hour-long experience starts with an introduction of the major styles of cheese, as well as basic information on pairing theories. Once the introductions are out of the way, we’ll guide you through a tasting of four cheeses and four pairings. We’ll additionally provide sparkling water and bread as palate cleansers. With your separate purchase
of the beverages from our Cheese Shop, the price is approximately $32 per person and we ask that you have a minimum number of 15 guests. After the hour-long tasting, you and your guests are welcome to enjoy the Cheese House for an additional 30 minutes.

Ok, here's the scoop folks: the Antonellis post their monthly newsletter tomorrow, which has the schedule of classes for the next month. THESE CLASSES SELL OUT WITHIN A COUPLE HOURS OF POSTING. 1 person can only buy 4 tickets at at time, and each class has 18 spots available. SO, for the purposes of having a meetup of this nature, its virtually impossible to host one unless we collude together within minutes after the posting, and buy tickets for a limited number of people.

Having said that, there are a couple alternatives, which Ms Antonelli sent me electronically, and I will post above. They will require payment in advance, and a commitment from each person wanting to go.

Susan, you are correct. The reality is all of the classes are waitlisted right now, so I'm not sure what to do. I'll call them today and see when is a good time to organize a group event. If you have already bought a ticket, please let me know, I'll work with you on that.
