Rifftrax: Doctor Who and the Daleks

This will be a joint event hosted by the "Cinema Terriblé: Austin" meetup group.

So there's this movie from 1965 called "Dr. Who and the Daleks". You've heard of Doctor Who, maybe seen an episode or two, right? Well, this isn't him. This movie takes place in a different universe; Doctor Who isn't a mysterious alien Time Lord, as from the show -- here, he's an elderly grandfather with the last name "Who", played by Peter Cushing ... and the dissimilarities don't stop there.

This classic from the 1960's includes hilarious commentary from Rifftrax. It should be a treat for fans of Doctor Who and B-movies alike.

Johann, I meant to say it last night but I love your B5 poster. It was awesome. That's a favorite show of mine. I had a great time as well.

Thanks again for hosting three different meetup groups at your place, Jeff. I know at least one or two people who were too afraid to attend because they thought it would be chaos with so many people... but it actually went by smoothly.

Guys, I'm planning to host more RiffTrax, MST3K, Cinematic Titanic and Master Pancake Theater events in the future. If you enjoyed my selections, and you're interested in watching this kind of stuff again (including perhaps another next thrilling installment from the Batman and Robin saga), check out my relatively new meetup -- Cinema Terriblé: Austin.

    Kedar from Cinema Terriblé here.

Dr. Who and the Daleks has a running time of only 83 minutes. Who's interested in staying for a double feature?

I think MST3K's episode on the movie "Time Chasers" would be a nice complement. The MST3K wiki sums it up - "It helps if you think of the movie as Back to the Future II, but with a twenty seven dollar budget."

Let me know what you think.

Yes, definitely. It'll be a nice reminder of all that is good in the world (sans Rose)
