I suppose that anyone using VIM knows this, but there is a setting 'expandtab'. When you hit the tab key it inserts spaces according to another setting 'tabstop'. So in my .vimrc I have these lines: set tabstop=4

    set expandtab

I've always used spaces but prefer the convenience of a tab.

That's awesome! Do you know if there's a way to set it based on the file type?

Pretty sure there is, but I have it set up for all vim sessions.

The team is improving. The tag team approach with Luke worked very well.

Do you think I should wait until I purchase the book? Is the session on Wednesday available to everyone?
