When: Thursday, February 4,[masked]:00 PM
1700 Red River St
Austin, TX 78701
For our meeting this week, we'll show "Ayn Rand: A Sense of Life".
This 1997 biographical film of Ayn Rand will be of interest to anyone who wants to know about the originator of the revolutionary philosophy of Objectivism, and how hse developed it. Directed by Michael Paxton, it documents the work and life of Ayn Rand as she progressed from the Russian girl inhibited by her oppressive surroundings to her renowned success as a philosopher and author in the United States. It features interviews with not only Rand but Leonard Peikoff, Michael Berliner, Harry Binswanger, John Ridpath, Sylvia Bokor and more.
This week the meeting will be Thursday, at 6:00 as usual, but in an auditorium classroom in the Nursing building (NUR 1.118
) since it has comfortable seating for a film. (The Nursing building is directly across Red River St from the Erwin Center.) We can bring food and drinks if we're civilized about it...if you'd like to contribute $5 for pizza, please e-mail [address removed] by noon Thursday along with any preferences -- meat/no meat, etc.
All UTOS events are free and open to the public.
