Here yee  here  yee,    come one  come all

Austin Yacht Club  “AYC”  has reached out to the Austin Sailing Society   “ASS”   to let us know about their Annual sailing extravaganza

Turnback Canyon Regatta

to be held memorial day weekend   May 25th/26th

Do NOT RSVP to this event here.

Go to:

See link for registration and information   http://austinyachtclub.net/showArticle?eventID=800184    For   Yacht Club Affiliation  put Austin Sailing Society.         if you do not want to race a boat or on a boat  and just want to come for the party    there is a “ Land Lubber” option.   Though racing a boat and crewing are encouraged!!!

For those that want the short version / explanation,  well it is a sail boat race up Lake Travis to about  Lake Way then back to AYC  on Saturday ending with a big shrimp  boil and  beach party AYC close to the docks.        On Sunday we race again and have a trophy presentation at the end of the day  4 ish on Sunday.

In the past the race was up to Logo Vista with a camp out / party and sail back the next day, but with lower lake levels, The party at AYC has proven more beneficial.

Anyway  if you have a boat,  think about registering and sailing in the race.   IF you do not  find some one that does.     The race will be scored on you boats PHRF Rating.     See link for rating info.   You will need it to register   http://offshore.ussailing.org/Assets/Offshore/PHRF/High+Low+Mean+PHRF+Handicaps.pdf

This is an awesome regatta since the format has changed ending each day back at the club!! And a great party as well with the Crawfish boil and live bands. I would also like to encourage anyone with a small centerboard boat to please sign up in the Portsmouth class. We will have one short distance race each day (6 miles). It's a great way to race since your only out there a couple of hours instead of all day which I get kinda tired of. I know A.S.S. is mostly keel boats but please bring out your little boats too!! :) You can also check out the Texas Centerboard Circuit for more of what we do!! We are a very easy going laid back group of racers and I'll be on the Weta. Please let me know if you have any interest! Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
