Our Meetup was excellent with three sailors aboard.
Sailing 26 ft. Banshee, our race started at 7:05 and we rigged up just in time to start. We killed the motor and headed to the first mark, which is just inside the Cypress Creek, AKA the Dead Zone. High cliffs make the winds shifty. We rounded our first mark and headed for LCRA channel mark #4, which is toward the dam. So far so good.

Suddenly a wind shift caught us and the boat did a full loop the loop. We will need to watch the wind a little better and hold the tiller firmly to keep the boat in control.

Faster boats passed us and we watched them turn at the mark and deploy their spinnaker sails. We rounded the mark well, still ahead of lots of other boats and headed down to Starnes Island and the final racing mark.

We took some sunset photos of boats returning to home base, turned around and headed for home!

This boat is 26 feet and races with a crew of four or five. At the July 4 raft up we had seven aboard.
