UPDATED 2/15...Small change in plans since I found out that Bluebonnet Cafe closes early on Sundays... :( Will have to save that for another trip. But we can still have some pie :) It'll be for lunch instead of dinner.
CALLING ALL ADVENTURERS...
Beautiful weather is upon us, so let's get out and enjoy nature this holiday weekend (for some of us lucky to get tomorrow off)! Just over an hour NW of Austin is Inks Lake State Park. Yes, there will be water since it stays at a constant level. Plan for a nice hike along part of the lake, <4 miles. The trail has some inclines and rocky terrain. Please wear comfortable and appropriate footwear. I don't expect we will get wet. Next, satisfy your appetite with a savory, home-style lunch at Hoover's Valley Cafe. I was told they do have pie :) After a full belly, we will head out to the Longhorn Caverns for the 3p walking tour which lasts about 1.5 hours. It's an easy walk. We will be making a number of stops as the guide provides narration.
MEET AT PARKING LOT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF WHERE LAKELINE MALL DR ENDS AND MEETS THE ROAD AROUND THE MALL (NEAR MACY'S). CALL[masked]-NERD TO FIND ME. OTHERWISE MEET AT THE INKS LAKE PARK HQ. TRAIL HEAD IS FROM THE PARKING LOT STRAIGHT AHEAD FROM HQ.
