[N. Austin] Werewolves of the Dark Arts, August 26th

(Last time went quite well. Aside from a few broken glasses. We're scheduled again for Monday the 26th. Sorry, Tuesday was taken. Doing what we can here.)

Werewolves of the Dark Arts is a variant of the social party game 'Mafia'. You'll get a card and it will have an identity on it. You know yours, but not anyone else's. Your goal is either to eliminate the Werewolves, or stay alive / help the Werewolves stay alive until they can take the village by force.

I, Tobias Amaranth, am the creator of this version of the game, and if you'd like to learn more, please visit for more information on the game. I recommend this for any first timers. :)

Additionally, I now have a business page on Facebook that I will be posting all Werewolf events to:

This is the 2nd month being hosted at Mister Tramps. We meet up in the party room visible when you enter, look for the circle of people in chairs. Please try and arrive as early as possible. I plan on starting the first round at around 6:15-6:30. Depending on the size of a group, a round can last 45 minutes or more.

There will be miscellaneous quick games played elsewhere in the room for those who die early and have no interest in watching the outcome. Spot It, Cards Against Humanity, and Fluxx are popular choices.

Werewolf is a great social experience, a fun way to meet new people, and even to improve your social skills by better understanding how to read other people.

(This event is free to attend, however tips are appreciated and go towards electronics upkeep, gas costs, food, etc. Also remember to tip the waitstaff if you buy food or drinks. I also will have copies of the game available for sale if anyone would like to own the game themselves.)

The next event has been posted. PLEASE, if a mod would push it forward to the main page, I would very much appreciate it.

Also, there is one other meetup for this style event, for South Austin:

This sounds like an AMAZING game. However, my plans have changed and I am regretting that I can't make this MeetUp toinght. ERGH. The S.Austin one is closer to me but Thursdays don't work for me unfortunately. Hopefully I can make the next N.Austin one!

I've always played computer games but never board, card or role playing. This should be great!

Fixed up the description (surprised it let me) and submitted the meetup announcement for the S. Austin one.

Definitely suggest adding the Facebook page, going to try and use that for future announcements in case things don't get cross-posted -

So how're you supposed to get people to approve events around here? O.o; Tried to crosspost the other one with no luck on having it pushed through. Ah well.

While I can't attend this meetup, I cannot recommend this meetup enough. Sure, I love happy hours as much as the next guy, but this is as wholesome of an activity as you can get (and we all need those every now and then). Plus, everyone that went last time was so friendly and really really easy to get along with. If you're thinking about it and can deal with the fact that it's during the work week, GO!

Also please make note, there really wasn't room to run two games side by side. Make sure to get there on time otherwise be prepared to wait 30-40 minutes minimum until the next round, though spectating is very entertaining on its own. See y'all soon! :)

And to add to that, if you need to get your werewolf fix earlier than that, we have a meetup earlier in the month at different location. More info here:
