Picnic at the Symphony - Last one of the summer - Big Band

Come out and join us for free Symphony music, sunset & and extreme picnicing!

This is a weekly event through the end of the schedule.

Where to find our group - If you are coming from the top of the stairs facing downtown, we are on the right about 1/3 of the way back. If you are coming from Riverside facing the Long center, look left on the grass. You should find some red tables set up and extreme picnic gear. I will try to have a red balloon weekly - but if not, trust me, we are easy to spot ;).

Here is a link to a map. See where it says Yelp Folks - that is where to find us. http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/2864508/location-of-group-pdf-june-11-2011-8-32-am-129k?dn=y

This is a great Summer sunset symphony tradition. Enjoy the beautiful Hartman Foundation Park just off the terrace of the Long Center, which serves as a stage, at sunset.

Pack a picnic, some wine, bring a blanket and your chill self for a fun Summer Sunday evening Austin tradition. Even though summer tends to be hot, the hour and the location are generally temperate with a light breeze. Not much of a picnic maker, bring takeout from one of your favorite haunts and compliment it with your own beverages.

Dog and Kid Friendly.

Fabulous group! Very happy to join the picnic this coming Sunday even without the band! The food was amazing also but I have a special place in my heart for the creator of the salty chocolate. . .:-)
    See you soon!

Fabulous evening. We saved the best for last. You cannot go wrong with Big Band and Bubbles. Largest turn out ever. Our "Island" was pretty full. Outstanding food, great company, flowing wine, against the back drop of Sunset and downtown Austin. So sad the season has ended. It was nice to meet some new meetup folks too.

    Asian Slaw Recipe here: http://www.food.com/recipe/pean...

    My variations:
    - I used Toasted Sesame Oil.
    - Vinegar, I used 1 T of Seasoned Rice Vinegar and 2 White vinegar.
    - Mayo - I used Vegan Mayo.
    - Ginger - I likely doubled the ginger (love ginger).
    - Subbed slivered almonds and toasted them in a pan with salt and toasted sesame oil instead of peanuts.

Folks - Big band gets crowded early - so good to get there at or before 7. I should be there around 6:45.
