Texas v. The World

TEXAS V. THE WORLD
A VARIETAL VS. VARIETAL SHOWDOWN

RSVP is required and must be done HERE
RSVPing through meetup is NOT the official RSVP Page

When you ask the average Texan ‘what do you think of Texas wine?’ you almost always, without exception get one of two responses back. Either they haven’t had any Texas wine worth remembering or they don’t even see it as an option when there is so much “better” wine out there.

The Texas v. The World Tasting is a series that meets every 1st Wednesday and is a head-to-head varietal comparison of wines made in Texas, by Texas grown fruit compared to the same varietal in a wine from another world-class growing area.

Each tasting has a guest host, which is a Texas winemaker that is there to shed light, lead discussions and answer questions about making wine in Texas. GUSTO Sommeliers are there to lead discussion and answer questions on the other world-class wines in the tasting.

As always GUSTO tasting groups are open to anyone who want to have an experience around wine in fun and informative tasting opportunities. Join us, it’s going to open your eyes about the awesome wines right here in our background.

The October 3rd Tasting will be featuring Tim Drake, Winemaker of Flat Creek Winery.

What exactly are we getting for our $30? There are no details other than Texas wine and a winery.

Hi Jack, the value in the tasting is to taste a single grape in every prominent region it is grown and compare that same grape in wines made in Texas. This is intended to be educational in nature via winemaker and sommelier led discussions. Cheese plates will be available but is not a focal point in the tasting.

Does this include food pairing or should we eat before we come?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
