Great first meeting. I enjoyed speaking to several members about what they were doing, but I'm sorry I didn't get around to everyone. Perhaps we could have had a quick turn around the room to let everyone introduce themselves and give a _brief_ overview of what they were doing. That would help everyone focus on those with a common project.

For the next meetup in 2 months, could we run it barcamp style ? There's two rooms, plus a hang out buffet/bbq/chat place. One room has some talk going on, and one room is like a 'help me get this working lab'. When people arrive, there's a 10 minute speed chat thing, where you chat to someone for 30 seconds then the buzzer sounds and you switch partners. Then everyone who wants to do a talk or a lab, puts their talk up in a 5 minute slot on the white board, all going on simultaneously.

Hi Matthew, For this first meetup I thought to just get people together to talk OpenStack as a social "get to meet other interested parties" event, but feel free to bring your laptop along and demo away! For our first meetups in Sydney and Melbourne we just had brief talks from a few vendors, but the main focus initially is to gauge local interest and start a few people talking amongst themselves. Rest assured we'll follow up with presentations and tech events!!

So I'm hoping to do another nova and swift client demo against my Rackspace Cloud account. I'm hard core learning to program openstack, and if I've learned enough on the day, I'll talk about the new 'cells' architecture that we're working on at Rackspace. It should bring a large performance boost.
