Games Night: PROJECTION!

Suzy and Jessica will be leading the next Games Night with help from our newest addition to the leadership team, Jason Zwolak! We think the time is ripe to dust off an old favorite theme, not yet played in Portland: Projection! We'll be exploring some of the ways our unconscious assumptions, imaginings, and interpretations shape and filter our experiences of each other.

Doors Open at 7:15. Evening starts at 7:30 (sharp!) and doors are closed at 7:45 (or whenever we begin the Agreements).

Reminder: We have raised the requested contribution to $10-15 to cover costs. This contribution will be requested upon entry to the studio. Please talk to us in advance if the cost to attend is prohibitive -- no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

    Excellent, edgy theme.

Sadly my wife is sick today. Being my birthday I feel better about being with her tonight since this was the way I initially wanted to spend my birthday with her. Hope to be at the next one.

Congratulations Jason. How does one get invited to join the leadership team?

Great question, Peter. At this time we have a need for one more leader to our rotation, and Jason has helped with production and is currently getting trained in the Aletheia intensive with Authentic World, which the four of us agreed was a minimum requirement for any new addition to the leadership team.

I wonder if you actually mean "Projection" (which comes from Freud). Definition (from Wikipedia, which squares with that given in my P.S.U. psych classes), "Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings."
I suspect that you might mean "meanings," which are not necessarily "projection". I think that the difference is important.

I also like the connotation of projection of movies on a screen. More on that at Games...

I realize that you're accepting the definitions created by the guys who started this enterprise.
