Join the Stella del Nord (MN) and Wisconsin Chapters of the Alfa Romeo Owner Club on Labor day Weekend for a re-run of one of the Alfa Heaven Melee Miglia weekends from the early 90's.
Bring your favorite Alfa, Fiat or other sporty or funky car. Phil and Veronica's '34 Borgward would fit right in with the other cars on display at the amazing Alfa Heaven Motorama Car Museum.
We plan on meeting for an excellent breakfast at the Swede Hollow Cafe, 725 E. 7th St., St. Paul at 8AM with a 9AM departure time for Zat's Alfa Heaven, two hundred miles to the east outside of Aniwa, WI. We'll take a variety of fun two lane with a fair amount of four lane to make up time across the flat areas.
The general plan is to arrive sometime around 1PM on Saturday. That'll give you time to check into your motel at either Antigo or Bernamwood or to set up your tent on an Alfa Heaven camp site close to the Eau Claire River. We'll then have plenty of time to check out the various portions of the indoor and outdoor museum displays. We pretty much guarantee that you'll see some cars that you've never heard of before. OK, perhaps Jim Kowalski can identify or at least is aware of the existence of the majority of them. As evening approaches we'll break out the beer and brats. This is after all Wisconsin.
After breakfast on your own on Sunday morning, we'll meet back at Alfa Heaven for the start or the Melee Miglia non-timed tour through the forested moraine area to the east. Beautiful rolling twisty roads that you and your Italian car will love. We'll re-run the 1993 Melee Miglia Rally Route that allowed you the option to run it as an all-paved event or as a combination gravel and paved.
We'll meet back at Alfa Heaven to unwind with brats or perhaps BBQ.
There will be a $10/person/evening charge to defray the costs of food and drink.
The cost of the tour will be covered by the Stella del Nord Chapter of AROC.
