This is a Must Experience event for the lover of great roads and fascinating vintage cars. Where else will you see the likes of a 1913 Mercer Raceabout, a 20’s vintage pre-GM Vauxhall, or a chain drive Frazer Nash along with post war cars such as Alfa Sprint Speciales and 2600’s plus the likes of a Citroen ZM driven by the woman that bought it new. All pretty neat and very laid back. We’ve even seen an early 30’s Alfa 8C2300 not competing but just being driven past checking out the scene.
We plan on leaving the Twin Cities after the rush hour eases up on Friday morning. We'll probably follow the Mississippi south as far as Lansing Iowa and then cut across Wisconsin on state and county roads to New Glarus with dinner in either Mineral Point or New Glarus.
It all starts around 9:00 on Saturday morning and continues until around 1:00 or so when many make it on over to the front porch at Puempel’s Olde Tavern for brats and local beer.
Dinner is either on your own or you may want to join the group at the evening banquet.
Marisa & I are planning on getting up early on Sunday morning in order to make it back to Minneapolis in time for the annual May Day parade. You’re welcome to follow us or to take a more leisurely drive back on your own. Good maps with suggested routes will be available.
More details will be posted as soon as I receive them.
