Hi All.

I am interested in learning how cameras and video data is handled in current production cars.

I suspect its a simple point-to-point, cheesy analog video signal most of the time but what about the Lexus, Merc, others with multiple cameras and/or image processing? How does that video move from cameras to ECU? CAN bus? (seems like a bandwidth problem.) Where is the video processing done?

Does anyone have any experience or pointers or ideas?

I did a little digging, not sure how relevant these are, but fwiw. Below are some references to some interesting developments over the last few years in the automotive OpenSIG ethernet area for data streams in the vehicle. Cheers!
