Why do you think that this would be a good group to join?

I think it's a great group to be a part of, learn from, and help support where possible. Professionally I help healthcare providers understand their patients better and have been working recently in the area of MS. I think it would give me good perspective in my work as well.

What topics would you like to discuss at our Meetup?

Anything related to health motivations. My passion is understanding the challenges associated with tough health conditions, and seeing how people rise to those challenges. Stories are scalable, and one person's journey and outlook can influence millions of lives for the better. When people are diagnosed with life altering illnesses, their perspective changes. I've spoken to hundreds of people with terminal cancer, severe diabetes, renal failure, etc. and it's amazing to hear how such a drastic health change can actually improve mental clarity. I've worked with MS fighters and heard people tell me how the most important things in life can become more clear when you are forced to prioritize, and when good health is no longer a "given" but a "goal." It's inspiring to learn and understand from groups like this, and share my perspectives from the work I've done in healthcare research.

I work in the health industry, have several friends and relatives with MS and other autoimmune illnesses. In my job I interact with many people facing these conditions and find it inspiring and personally motivating, regardless of my health status
