Shake off winter blues @ Hyatt Hills' 9 Hole Course

  • Hyatt Hills Golf Complex

1300 Raritan Road, Clark, NJ (map)

    40.635700 -74.307100

  • This saturday is currently showing highs of 55 in the Clark, NJ area. It'll be a good time go get out the clubs out, shake the dust off 'em and get the reacquainted with the golf ball. Hyatt Hills is a beautiful, well manicured executive course which has proven to be a great challenge to all. I will need to call ahead of time for a tee time so please reserve early if you are interested in joining us. This will be our first pre-season meet.

The 9-hole "Hyatt Hills" course at the Hyatt Hills Golf Course facility in Clark, New Jersey features 3,219 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36 . The course rating is 69.5 and it has a slope rating of 130 on Bent grass. Designed by Brian T. Ault, ASGCA, the Hyatt Hills golf course opened in 2002.

If the snow does put a hold on this, we can move the meet to Sunday if most of the snow is gone by then or we can do indoor golf in paramus. Let me know your thoughts on both options. These are just things to consider though we're still on for saturday until we see how much snow hits us.

    March 6, 2013

    • John E

If the snow sticks enough that we can't play then we will try sunday instead. If you want to play sunday, my friend and i are playing but not sure where yet. we can meet and play but i will not post it here as an event. what county do you usually play at?

      March 7, 2013

    • John E

I have tee times for sunday so if you're interested to play at 10:48pm.

      March 8, 2013

  • John E

I scheduled two 4-somes for Sunday each at 10:48 and 10:56. It seems we might not be able to play tomorrow with the snow. Hopefully it melts down by tomorrow night. I left tomorrow as Pending so the tee times are not canceled in case a miracle happens. I'll send an email out to see if anyone else is interested in coming Sunday if there's no snow.

Can't be there Saturday. Sundays are always better for me. Managed to play a round in Florida a few weeks ago, so the season has officially started for me.

Ok, no problem. If sunday looks nice, i might play another 9 at galloping hill.. not sure yet but we'll start the group off this saturday and we'll soon be getting out more often... what range will you go to?

      March 5, 2013

  • John E

Good idea to book ahead. I have a freind of mine I've encouraged to join the group, we normally play together on weekends. I normally play Sunday mornings but a few satrudays won't hurt. God knows I need the practice.

    • John E

yea... i need to get to the range this week. We usually try to schedule both weekend days especially when it's a beautiful weekend..

Can we play earlier? have a flight later that day?

    March 4, 2013

    • John E

Right now, it's showing that at 12pm on saturday it will be mid 40s. I think any earlier than 10:30 would be under 40 degrees. The forecast changes so fast. Yesterday it said high of 55 and now it says high of 50. Once it gets warmer we will have some earlier games but so it's not too cold we will have to keep it a little late... I'll post the tee time later this morning.

      March 5, 2013

  • John E

Hi Leroy, I saw your message on my profile. I'll call tomorrow to book a time for 4 people. I will book sometime after 10:30 or closer to 11am so the weather has a chance to warm up a little. We started this group in June of last year and it took off like a rocket.. We are going to start early and once the weather gets warm enough, we'll have a strong variety of courses to conquer. We don't take many weeks off unless it's a rainout, we're away on vacation, or we feel that we need a weekend to unwind.

I never play golf before 11:30 because I have hypoglycemia.

    March 4, 2013

    • John E

I think our start time will be roughly around 11am. Once the day gets closer and we see the average temps in the morning we may move the time up some so that we're not playing in sub 40 degree weather. We'll also have to see what times are available when i book.

Have my boys this weekend. Look forward to getting out again this year with you guys!
