Hi, I'm Jeanne and I have 2 tweenie dachshunds, and one Dachshund mix; Pebbles is 12, and Gypsy is about 41/2 and Cody is about 3 and loves to socialize with other dogs and people!
Nice group of people and little dogs!
Thanks for joining us Saturday it was a pleasure meeting you and the pups :) Thank you very much for posting all of the great pictures! Hope to see you again soon!
Thank you Jeanne for joining our group! We have a small dog group every Saturday from 10 - 11 a.m. We hope to see you and your beautiful dachshunds there soon! :)
Do these Doxie pups ever become loving and lap dogs? this one is getting more bold and tougher each day!!!!!! My husband says sell him and get another breed or an adult golden or soft breed rescue Any tips guys?
I do not see my posts to you after I write them..I must be doing something wrong? I am so bad on these things. I want to post to all the mini doxie folks and ask can your doxie walk for 45 to 60 minutes with you a day as an adult? My min pin did for most of his 15 years. And, I read a few do hikes and long walks. I walk daily for that amount. what age can I expect him to want to? Now, with 2 sweaters or a down coat, he does 2 blocks....any input?
I passed on SP obedience. I was told by a pro from Germany of Doxie and GSD that I need to get him 100percent. Focused and obeying me as I did with my pin before I should introduce him to other pups and dogs that also are not fully trained. He said that is too much stimulus and distraction for adult trained dogs versus untrained pups. I can do it. I did it with my pin and GSD and Beagle over the past 50 odd years My new breed too. Will love to come to the picnic in WLFD
I am in Wallingford. Are there any doxie folks here? we are on the East Side. We will be at smarty pants dog obedience Sunday at 2 first class. so, can not make it at 1 in New Haven. but, see you all soon. Charlie seems to like to play with all breeds sofar. they just don't want to play with him.
Thanks so much for joining! I am currently in the process of trying to find an indoor location as it is very cold most days.
Will keep you updated!
Thanks for the welcome; we're very excited about the meet-ups, but unfortunately we'll have to wait until June, as we have a prior engagement this month.
Looking forward to meeting you and many more dachshunds and their owners.
Ari talks about him all the time and says if we ever get a second dog, he just HAS to be like Gypsy or he won't be right lol! Joe is my friend's son I bring him because up until recently he had a big fear of dogs so this helps him and he's getting over his fears more and more as time goes on...I thought since he was comfortable with Sneijder, that the small dogs would be great for him... it's a win win situation for everyone!
I can't even tell you how much my daughter looks forward to coming to the meetups so she can cuddle with Gypsy...he's SUCH a sweet dog I could hug him forever!
