GRAND FINALE: Sky Mountain Way Sangha

Come talk with an enlightened master. Do you have questions about enlightenment or the nature of reality? We host a weekly discussion group with a man named Jim MacKenna who became enlightened in 1969 and has been living in that state ever since. He was introduced to us in the last year and now offers his time to help anyone pierce the veil of illusion and find true stillness and peace… enlightenment. Please come by, have some tea and hookah. Sit outside with us or inside by the fire. There is no need to talk. One can just come and listen. The energy is easy and those who attend are warm hearted and supportive. This is your chance to speak with a person who has shed ego at every turn and attained what many of us spend eons in pursuit of.

That was the posting of a new event series four-and-a-half years ago by Rich Hughes for Jim MacKenna and The Clear Light Mind Enlightenment Discussion Group.By March of 2009 the group became simply Sunday Sangha and it has been a continuous discussion every Sunday with very few exceptions. The Sunday following Independence Day we will be holding the Sunday Sangha Grand Finale. Join us as we recall some of the more memorable exchanges, topics and characters over the years.

As this will be our final Sunday we'll have a Pot Luck After Meeting beginning at 6 pm where we can share our Sangha stories in a more social setting. If you plan to join us for the Pot Luck, please bring food or drink to share with the group.

The Sunday Sangha has been an exquisitely controversial event series that has been a continual source of conversation regarding the highest levels of experiential philosophy. This extremely rare resource has been key to the direct transformation of several dozen community members and while there are events that are forming that will fill most of the gap, there are certainly nostalgic pangs of sadness to see the end of this era arrive. I hope that everyone that has been touched by Sunday Sangha will join us in closing this event series with the honor it deserves.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
