Food, Drinks & a Classic Movie

Update: The theater has changed the showing from The Man Who Knew Too Much to D.O.A.

The Magick Lantern is a tiny movie theater (just 40 seats!) in Pt. Richmond that shows classic movies every Thursday night. This week's offering is the 1953 noir D.O.A. Let's check it out.

We'll meet at the rugby-themed Up & Under Pub & Grill at 6:00 for food and drinks. Then we'll walk around the corner at 7:00 and get in line for the movie, which starts at 7:30. FYI, the theater sells popcorn and candy if you don't eat at the bar.

The movie runs a mere 83 minutes, so we'll have time afterwards to go next door to The Baltic for another drink if people are interested.

Theater admission is free, but donations are accepted. AC Transit Route 72M serves Pt. Richmond, and there is ample free street parking in this safe, cute neighborhood.

Apologies for not making it tonight. I got stuck in traffic and then got lost; lost enough until I got fed up and went home. I guess that's what happens when you don't know the area!

FYI, I am wearing brown pants, a dark green t-shirt, and black jacket. I'll be in front of the pub at 6. If you arrive late, look for us inside.

Hey sorry I can't make it. I was hoping I would get over being sick but I need another night of rest. Have fun.

I think the movie being screened for 2/13 is "D.O.A.". http://www.themagicklantern.com/Classics_Night.php

Looks like the movie listing changed between the time this event was made and now. Bummer. No Hitchcock, but we'll go anyway. And who knows, maybe we'll find out the reason for the change!

I can also offer rides from Richmond BART. Let's say 3 people no later than 5:45 at the same location Rebecca detailed. Contact me at[masked] or comment on the thread to claim a spot.

Oh, I love Peter Lorre! But Richmond is so far away :) are you putting a cap on this?

Gosh, I know. It's at least 7 miles from Berkeley. Phew! We won't worry about a cap unless we break the 20+ threshold.

I can pick up a carload of people at Richmond BART at 5:45 if there's interest. I'm not online much, so call/text me at[masked]-0586. Passenger pickup is on the west side of the station--from the fare gates, turn right and go up the STAIRS or elevator, NOT the long ramp. I probably won't want to stay out super late though I'd be up for a short visit to the Baltic.
