Join the MIT Museum for Sweet Science: Cocktails, Candy, and Cutting-edge Research and indulge in some post-Halloween sweets while listening to leading researchers speak about their latest projects. We'll be serving candy and themed cocktails to match each researchers' topics and will have plenty of opportunities to get some hands-on experience with their projects! Ever play with self-assembling robots before? Now's your chance!
Enjoy Milky Way candy while Professor Sara Seager - a 2013 MacArthur Fellow - discusses her studies of exoplanets; learn about the Earth's crust with Professor Oliver Jagoutz as you savor Pop Rocks; and find out how graduate student Nikolai Begg develops minimally invasive surgical tools (while sampling Life Savers). Finally, learn about a variety of robots, including the BigEye, with graduate student Sangok Seok, robotic fish with Professor Kamal Youcef-Toumi, and self-assembling robots with robotics engineer John Romanishin! This is trick-or-treating, MIT Museum-style! Costumes are encouraged.
$15/adult. Ages 21 and up. Cash bar. Ticket includes two cocktails. Pre-registration required.
