15th Brisbane Ayn Rand Meetup

Discussion Topic: Do animals have rights?

Come along for another good discussion at The Regatta.

Call me on my mobile[masked] if you're having trouble finding us.

Here’s the schedule I’d like us to follow:

7:30 arrive, chat, and order meals
8:00 start formal discussion
9:00 wrap up formal discussion. From then on we’re free to talk about anything we please. The evening normally finishes not long after 10.

For the formal discussion I’d like to follow this approach:

1. The person who proposed the topic will introduce it.

2. We will move clockwise around the table with each attendee having the opportunity to speak uninterrupted for about 2-3 minutes each time around (subject to point 3). Based on an average attendance of about 8 people this will mean each person should, after presenting his/her views initially, have at least two chances to clarify, answer any questions, or raise questions.

3. I reserve the right to cut anyone short if they exceed the time limit or if I believe they’ve already made their point. The person interrupted may then have the opportunity to clarify or make a new point at his/her next turn.

4. I will sum up at 9pm.

Please do abide by point 2. It makes my job much harder if I have to be constantly interjecting because people have spoken out of turn!
