Azure October Update and "Hack Yourself First" with Troy Hunt

Please join us on Wednesday 23 October for the next Windows Azure Sydney User Group meeting.

Based on the great feedback we've been getting to our survey we see you want to know more about hosting websites on Azure.  What better place to start than with security? We're pleased to announce that Troy Hunt will be speaking at our October meetup!

Our schedule for the evening currently looks like this:

1. Doors open at 5.40 with food served at 5.50.

2. Windows Azure news update. 6.00pm.

3. Hack Yourself First: How to go on the cyber-offence before online attackers do - Troy Hunt.

Troy Hunt is a prolific blogger, speaker and antagonist of poorly secured websites. A Microsoft MVP for Developer Security, Troy’s focus is on helping developers secure the web by demonstrating the execution of attacks and then walking through the mechanics of the mitigations. Troy’s also the author of two Pluralsight courses that follow this pattern – the OWASP Top 10 for ASP.NET and Hack Yourself First – as well as the creator of ASafaWeb, the Automated Security Analyser for ASP.NET websites. Once thought violent dictionary cracking was far away from me, but seeing it live just made me thinking a lot... Purely following the patterns of framework isnt safe anymore.... :_(
