PT. WASHINGTON HOLIDAY WALK

  • Dec 15, 2013 · 3:00 PM

This year’s holiday walk will again be in the great old town of Port Washington. The walk will take us along Manhasset Bay, then around Mill Pond and Baxter Pond and include a mile long stretch down Main Steet. This walking event will have a limited attendance due to its residential nature. The distance will be about 4 miles on mostly level pavement, some small hills involved. Meeting place will be emailed to those attending. Hope you’ll join us.---Lee

I loved the group photo in front of the Christmas tree. It can be a Christmas card from the group. Everyone looked so happy and cheery. I just didn't see Alan in the photo.

    • Loren

It would be so cool if he took a Christmas character and put Alan's face in it and have it next to Nick or in the front. If Lee wants to add me and Steve, he can but where would he put us? It might take a while but it probably can be done with some photoshopping and major cropping.

Nice walk in a beautiful old town. Judging by the lack of stars this event received, some may have been disappointed but it's about being together at this time of year, not about the town lights.

The walk was wonderful. It wasn't about lights, it was about being with friends on a Sunday afternoon, and enjoying our walk in this beautiful town.

I agree with you Ilana and it feels so good to be with the people you enjoy being with and to enjoy the surroundings around you. The last time I walked around Port Washington pre boot, I enjoyed seeing the beautiful homes and other scenic views and I didn't have to do it alone because I had wonderful friends with me. It was so worth coming out to Port Washington to be with everyone having a good time dining with you all.

It was a great walking day! Beautiful picturesque town , with snow still around . It only enhanced our walk . Paths were mostly clear !
Perfect day , ending with snack and dessert at Ayhans . Loren and Steve , it was nice that you joined us at Ayhans !

The walk through this picturesque town was great. It started out cold and raw, but we endured, and as we progressed through this lovely town, the skies brightened up, and we were all removing our scarves, gloves and hats. The "after party" at Ayhans was lots of fun, as always. It was a lovely setting with the wrap-around windows overlooking the water. We got to see Loren's boot, quite a fashion statement, I must say. Loren and Steve, it was good having you back.

I am so glad I did and it is so much better than sitting home and watching TV and the four walls all day. I am actually tired of sleeping, lol. It was seeing you too Henry as always.

It was so great that I got to meet up with some of you at the Ayhan's Shish-Kebab Restaurant and the food was very delicious. Thank you, Stephen for showing me your cobb salad. It looked great and tasted great but I am glad I asked them to eliminate the bacon. I am glad to see that everyone had a great walk and like Henry says invigorating. Sorry I could not have joined you but I couldn't with my boot. Anyway, it was a beautiful day and Lee picked a great day for the holiday walk at Port Washington. It was so beautiful when the holiday lights lit up. Perfect time for the walk as well. Looking forward to seeing you all soon and hopefully on a walk.

What's wrong with the weather? Not going to get much better than this considering what we've had lately.
