On Sunday afternoon we’ll be walking through and around this beautiful arboretum. The Bayard Cutting Arboretum has a great path that runs along River Walk and into the woods. This is a good time of year to enjoy this scenic spot.  There may be a parking fee for those without Empire passes. This should be about a 3 mile walk on a mostly flat surface. There may be a makeshift boardwalk along the way with a small island to explore.  Hope you’ll join us.---Lee

We managed to walk 3 small islands and have lunch, all without breathing heavy. What a Krewe.

Hi Loren. I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago and I have been struggling a bit. I signed up this weekend for both walks and RSVPd for Saturday saying I could not make it but forgot to do it for Sunday.

I am so sorry to hear about your back. I do hope you feel better soon. I do remember you mentioning on one of the sites about your back so feel better and see you soon.

At the risk of sounding redundant, this was another stellar Walk by the Boardwalk group. Although we had a bit of unwanted excitement, with a scare by Andy, the afternoon was terrific. The weather was beautiful, the company lively, conversations flowed easily. Lunch on the Manor House porch, while a little cool and windy, was very nice as well. For a small kitchen, they sure offer a wide range of choices, from soups and salads to sandwiches and soda bread, with a spectacular view of the sprawling lawns and water below. Thanks, Lee, for a great day.

If it wasn't for Lee and his groups, I would be either doing walks alone or sitting at home computing or looking for some people who want to get together. It has been the best 7 years of my life and I love Lee's groups too and he plans and organizes his walks very well. If it wasn't for Lee's walks, I never would have met anyone from his groups and everyone is so special to me and warm. His members are quality people and it makes me happy when everyone is happy and enjoying the day together. Walking, socializing and having a good lunch is a good day. It is a completed day. Lee does a fantastic job planning and organizing his walks and he even goes to the walks before the event too. Lynne, it was great seeing you and you have a great attidude with what you want to do on a Sunday by enjoying your day out with all of us, having lunch and then going home to your precious dogs. Happy Easter and see you soon.

It was one of those "feel good" days walking at one of the most beautiful parks in Long Island - Weather is improving daily . Nice conversations , and the best of people to be walking and talking with . Sorry to have missed a nice lunch - finally caught up at home .
Thank you Lee and Loren in planning the walks.

Ann, just remember that Lee organizes and plans the walks. I take the attendance and exercise my public relations with everyone. I also follow the leader, Lee. He is the one. We missed you at lunch and you were with us in spirit. Just think of us all sitting outdoors looking over the most beautiful scenery and the wind blowing and sun shining bright. It was good that you caught up with things at home. You got to do what you got to do. Anyway, it was good seeing you and see you on Wednesday.

Sunday's walk through the Bayard Cutting Arboretum was great and fun. Nice weather, sunny with a nice breeze. Great group with us and large one too. I do hope Andy is ok and sorry what he went through during his walk with us. I loved going through the 3 islands that Lee led us too and they were beautiful. Sorry I complained about the muddy spots so I didn't want to be a crank. Stephen never gave his cranky acceptance speech but that was ok. Great time with everyone and there were a lot of great conversations and a lot of fun. Lunch was great at the cafe and eating outside was nice especially sitting in the sun and because of the wind, it blew part of my salad all over the floor. Anyway, Lee thank you for ordering us a great day and a beautiful one and thank you for leading us at a beautiful place through the islands, especially Paradise Island. It was nice meeting the new members as well. Again, I hope Andy is ok. Happy Passover to our Jewish members of the group.
