Last year on our Turkey Walk we walked off a leg and a thigh, it felt good to go home a little lighter. This year we'll begin our walk through Eisenhower Park at 1pm. The walk will take us around the lake, passed the Aquatic Center, and through the wooded area behind the tennis courts. Total distance is 4 miles. Meetup location will be emailed to those attending. Hope you'll join us. ---Lee

Thanks to all . I needed as incentive to get my 50 year old bones off the couch today . The spirited bunch did the trick !

Steve, I am not a big fan on the extreme temperatures, cold or hot. I am definitely not a fan with the humidity so if it is 80-85 or even 90 degrees and it has a nice breeze and dry, then that is a great day for me. If it is below 40 degrees and windy and chilly, then it is a little rough in the beginning of the walk but as you walk for a certain amount of time, your body gets acustomed to the temperature and you don't feel that cold. You do have to layer up first and if you get warm, you can always take off the layers slowly. I am sorry Steve that you suffer from hypertension but it is good that you are controlled with meds. You are human and you do what you can do. As far as the movie Lincoln, I rather not spoil the plot since people out there want to see it.

Carol, I think we got very spoiled with the mild weather we were having but I did hear on Friday that we were going to have a cold front coming in on Saturday. Just try to dress in layers and I am famous for that. Before leaving the house, go on Accuweather to see what the temps are going to be for that day. I read 40's for Wednesday but you never know especially if the sun comes out strong and no wind. I am just glad that you showed up as an effort so put on a heavier pair of pants next time. Hopefully, we will all see you on Wednesday.

Though most of the parking areas were closed due to the storm we managed to walk through the park by way of a slightly different route. We still managed 3.7 miles.

I look forward to the walk although I am not cooking so I probably won't overeat the leftovers...the best part. I did a Belmont Park walk with your group and loved it. Does this mean I am signed in?

It was a bit windy at times (but not really bad)! Once you started walking, you didn't feel cold! So future winter walks should not be a problem! Great group to be walking with!

Carol, it is very understandable you were uncomfortable doing the walk in the cold and wind so next time, you will be a little more prepared. It was more the wind and whenever we do a walk at Eisenhower Park, and the fact that it is an open field, we will feel the wind more. It did help when the sun came out. Over all it was a good walk and we had a good group of people. Carol, I am looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday but dress warm just in case. Be well and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I enjoyed the walk very much. It was windy at times but we all walked it through and had a good time. I also had a good time with the group at the Colony Diner for lunch. I wanted to add something that one of our members commented and I can tell you that I have been motivated to exercise since I was a teenager and it always gave me the biggest rush to go out and take walks and enjoy the fresh air. The weather never really bothered me as long as I was dressed appropriately according to the weather and being safe in the environment I was in. Being with a group of people walking is the greatest and if you keep moving yourself around, you will never feel how cold or hot it is outdoors. You have to do what you have to do emotionally and physically and listen to your body as well. Everyday is a new day, new venture and new journey. I have always felt great being with all kinds of people not only for exercising purposes but connecting and networking is so important.

Warm people to take chill out of unseasonably cold afternoon. Enjoyed every minute of it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
