November 2013 BUG Meeting Featuring Proletariat's World Zombination!

Hello Boston Unity Group!

Announcing our November 2013 BUG Meeting featuring Proletariat's World Zombination!

When: November 12, 7pm - 9pm
Where: Meadhall, Kendall Square, top floor. Tons of beers on tap.

The Art Director at Proletariat Inc., Damon Iannuzzelli, will talk about creating stylized animated cinematics in Unity. About a month prior to Pax Prime 2013, the team at Proletariat decided to create a teaser video for their upcoming game, World Zombination. With very little experience using Unity, a small team of artists (two to be precise) were able to very quickly create sophisticated sets, camera motion, animation, and post FX. Damon will describe what went right, what went wrong, strategies for lean production and takeaways for their next cinematic project in Unity.

    I really enjoyed the workflow details in Damon's presentation. It's interesting to see how and why other teams make their decisions. I'm new to the Boston area so it was great meeting the local people in the scene/industry!

    I'm a freelance 3D artist--if anyone is in need of 3D modeling/texturing work feel free to get in touch!

    Damon was concise and most important fully candid about every key decision that matters in organizing Unity project development work flow;

    the fact that his team made several discoveries the hard way, and that these lessons will now save us all a lot of time and punching of walls is very much appreciated.

    Thank you BUG - Proletariat !

    Very interesting talk. This type of presentation showing the details of project production is a great way to learn best practices and also, getting to know the personalities of our local producers.
