More on Metadata and Reviews

What is metadata? Is it different for digital products?
How do review systems work on Amazon as opposed to other sites such as Goodreads?

In this Monday night meeting we will discuss these two critical elements of book discovery and sales. Independent authors and publishers, bloggers who do book reviews, and readers all feed into these systems -- for better or worse.

Come with your questions and your insights to share. Snacks to share are also much appreciated!

See you in Belvedere.

Suzanne - I went and checked out your e-course series and when I scanned down the page, I found this: "So You'd Like to...Create a guide." Is this the successor to Listmania? Seems like it is even more suited to authors who want to put out a little information and then link to their books, etc. Or would Amazon frown on such self-promotion?

Ruth - Create A Guide is another one of Amazon's innovations to help authors with discovery. I talk about it in my e-course, "Managing Reviews." I'll send that over to you via email. I'm creating a guide for The Sugar Divorce and for the Beyond Bestseller E-Courses. It's designed to serve the author, that's the point of it as I see it.

Excellent! I always come away from these events with at least one new piece of valuable information. This time it was what Suzanne told us about ACX. And there was so much more that she and others shared.

Excellent participation and input from BABS members. We're all learning together as we implement strategies for our publishing and marketing. It's encouraging to me as the group leader to have a meeting with so much information coming in the door. Thanks to everyone who attended last night.

I am just starting to learn about metadata and how important it is to get your book discovered. I hope I can attend the next one. Did I read the last one is one video?
