We are gearing up for a great crowd at our next Authors Go Public event in Sebastopol on June 12! This will be the first time Authors Go Public comes to Sonoma County, and we will be focusing on ebook production tips. I am putting together a panel discussion on ebook production tools, and have a couple spots still open for people who would like to share their experiences creating ebooks.
Ideally, panel participants will have published at least two ebooks, and/or be conversant in at least one software tool or publishing platform: Smashwords, PressBooks, InDesign, Pages, Word, iBooks Author, etc. I am particularly interested in having someone on the panel who can speak to creating graphics-rich books. My goal for the panel is to de-mystify the ebook production process, and give members a sense of what tools would be best for publishing their content. We will also (inevitably) talk about distribution, and the relative benefits of Amazon, iBooks, Barnes & Noble, and other ebook distributors.
If you would like to be part of our panel, please contact me by the end of this week. I will post the speaker line-up to our website prior to the event. And if you haven't yet attended a BABS/Authors Go Public meetup in Sebastopol, now is your chance to visit the renowned O'Reilly Media campus—one of our wonderful sponsors, and a real industry leader in digital publishing!
Thanks so much,
