Good hike Paul. Thanks for posting. The heat made the climb out quite challenging but what's a good, hard hike without a challenge! I'll remember to stick with at least one member of the group so I don't find myself "lost"!

Good to hike with you today ! -- I LOVE your comment " Find myself lost" -- Somehow that really makes a lot of sense. -- Bob

Jeffrey never puts me out front as I am always finding myself "lost"! So glad you all showed up when you did as the calm before panic was to set in had passed!

I forgot to save the trip route of this hike on my GPS. From my estimate of what was on the screen, the hike was every bit of 2300 feet of elevation gain, but Bob's figure of 2900 feet could be very close to corrrect. That was a lot of hiking on a very hot day but still worth every minute!

Thank you JF. I think the heat made each step "up" seem like two steps up! Great day :-)

Thanks for leading a GREAT Hike ! Yep, the sun-load was a bit taxing on the climb out but.. everyone chose a pace that worked BEST for them. I appreciate your guidance in getting me back on track when I missed the trail turn offs ;-)

Great hike and a good work out! Glad I made the trip from Willcox for this one. I still have to check the track on my GPS, but I am pretty sure that we climbed more than 2000 feet.

JF -- This hike was 2,300' of pure elevation change without accounting for standard ups and downs as we traversed the trail. Looking back at several of my GPS hikes I have determined that "on average" the AEG or Accumulated Elevation Gain is typically 25 % MORE that the absolute elevation change. So... I predict that your GPS will show "about" 1.25 X 2,300' or 2,900' of AEG -- Let us know -- Bob

Like other post I just need to be out of Tucson during this prerain heat, I have a swamp something. Couldn't even call it a cooler today. Also dogs are thinking the same thing. It's a dog allowed trail so I will see ya'll there. If anyone needs a ride or wants to throw a dog in the back of my truck all good, very friendly dogs. :)
