There is a CBA annual conference this Saturday (Nov. 10th) at Crowne Plaza Foster City with a theme “Expediting bio-industry growth: innovation, globalization, and evolution”.
There are talks related to drug research and development such as the one by Robert W. Duggan, CEO & Chairman of the Board of Directors at Pharmacyclics. There are talks on diagnostics such as the one on circulating tumor cell analysis by Daniel T. Chiu, the A. Bruce Montgomery Chemistry Professor and Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Washington (for those who are interested in personalized medicine in oncology, you know how important the analysis of CTC is in diagnosis and prognosis. Device talks are also on the agenda such as the one by Stanly Yang, CEO at NeuroSky (if you are curious about the rabbit ears on a person’s head that respond to emotions as shown in commercials, you may want to listen to this talk. I saw one of the hosts wearing it at the ATT mobile app hackathon in Palo Alto a week ago).
