We will meet for races but you are not required to come to training runs. We are not a normal running club but are closely affiliated with the WOW Team. The two clubs have separate memberhip expectations and fees.
What age category would you be in, given 10 year increments starting at 20.
Have you competed before? If so, please tell us about your experience both distances, times, and what years.
I have run in relays with WOW teams at CIM.
You don't need to be fast but we do want you to be reliable. Are you?
I'm a member of WOW. I think these races sound like fun.
We are women who want to run races and compete as a team in the PAUSATF Series of races in northern California! We'll do road races from 5K to marathons, track meets from 400m to 5000m, and cross country. We call ourselves the Bay Area Women's Racing Federation - BAWRF for short.
If you are already a fast racer, we want you to help us get points and see your name on the roster. If you are interested but don't think you are fast we need you to help us qualify as a team. Well help you learn how to get faster.
Our initial recruiting focus will be 40 and up. We especially want women over 60! However, all ages are welcome to check us out. We are new, just forming and practices will occur, somewhat randomly, throughout the Bay Area when members would like to invite the rest of us to their neighborhood.
As Coach of Go WOW Team I invite you to run with us at any of our workouts or, if you like, invite our BAWRF Members to run with you or your run team.
You have no obligation to train with us, just be there for the races!
You also do not have to run in every race. That said, we must meet a minimum number of team members in each age division to qualify as a team. Thus, the more members we have, the less races we HAVE to RUN and still be able to qualify for the points we accrue by participating in every race.
