August Full Moon Drum Circle

Another full moon is coming up! (No pun intended!) In August, the full moon is on a Tuesday and it's late in the day so I wanted to try this as an after work event. The full moon rises at 7:28pm - and the sun sets at 7:54.

The park is BIG.... so, to find us, use the address above and LOOK at the Google map. The green arrow points to the exact location where we meet. From 101, you'll go east on Embarcadero Rd, and pass the PA airport (will be on your left); take a left at the T; go past the duck pond (also on your left). After that, bear right and proceed to a gravel parking lot at the end of the road. The place where we drum is an area of soft gravel between the parking area and an arrangement of big concrete blocks.

There is no seating, so bring your chair, stool, or an old blanket to sit on. There is an outhouse nearby. Dogs are allowed. Handicapped access is poor. This location is always cool and windy in the evenings so bring a jacket or sweater. The park closes at 8:30 on this day.

If your plans change at the last minute, please change your RSVP accordingly.

Extra drums and percussion instruments are always available.

Thanks John once again for was a great group and much fun!
Good to see everyone! Seeing both the sun and moon balancing on the horizon was a special sight. And being out on the baylands gave us that wonderful.

A beautiful evening it was. We had over two hours of good drumming. There were 11 "no shows"... and I would like to see that number decrease in the future. I collected $35 for the organizer fee. Thanks to all who contributed.

Warm then colder. But not enough to freeze the enthusiasm. Then the moon rose...

Husbands, sons, and daughters are welcome. If they are participating, include them in your RSVP; if just listening or hanging out, don't include in RSVP. I can not guarantee that you will have a drum to play the whole time. We usually have a few spare drums and many other percussion instruments available.
