This is a great centrally located venue. We have met there a few times already and the members of UUFS want to do it again.  See above for the location and map. They have plenty of chairs but OK to bring your favorite one or a stool if you need it. Lots of free drumming will be done with a few guided activities.

Please arrive on time because we are limited to only 9pm.

We had a great time with 18 RSVP'ed members from BADC and approximately 7 members from UUFS, and a few kids. We did open drumming and had a few activities. Everyone played well. Thanks to UUFS for having us. Thanks to all who attended and helped. Watch for another event at this location in July.

Great drumming circle tonight! Thank you everyone. My apology to those who brought fans - we didn't need them! luckily. Appreciate Alan knowing how and where to stack chairs, and Tobi helping with line up of chairs afterwards, and all of you from Meetup who helped them - great job. Don't you just love how John A. teaches the beat and conducts at times? I can still feel the layers of rhythm we wove together this evening. Blessings to all.

If anyone feels like bringing a big floor fan, we could use a few to cool down the room... and you can join us as early as 6:40pm for set up if you wish. If so, please email me.

If you arrive early tonight, please make yourselves comfortable at our front entrance, on benches, on the lawn, in the shade, or by the fountain. We will invite you all inside a little before 7pm. Alan Herrman will join us tonight as UUFS co-host, and there may be a few kids and parents, but we are 95% adults in the RSVP list.

I have people to help with chairs both before and after the drumming - thank you all! And as you drive over to join us tonight, know we are located at a busy residential intersection where the city is in the middle of putting up a traffic light (at Bernardo & Remington.) Please Stop fully at all stop signs and heed the speed limit. As always, watch for pedestrians, bicyclists, kids, dogs and such. Thank you! (for new attendees, a photo of our structure is at http://www.uufs.org)

Are we supposed to bring our own drums? I can bring my floor tom or snare drum. I have a regular pearl drumset

We typically don't have drumset type drums at our drum circles, but it would be ok to bring what you have. Just try to play in a way that fits in. We also have extra percussion instruments and hand drums to share, so you don't HAVE to bring yours.

OK update... we will have 30 minutes on either end of 2 hours of drumming, instead of 10 minutes, to make our circle beforehand, and then reset chairs at the end of drumming. (UUFS rents the space...) so that is relief!

Hi all! Looking forward to drumming at UUFS on Friday May 30 with all those who are coming. Need some volunteers for the end of evening... Right now we have ten minutes on either end of two hours of drumming to arrange the chairs. Set up is pretty easy. I am looking for one or two people from Meetup to learn the system for putting back the chairs, according to requirements by the Fire Marshall, and so our Sunday morning team is not left with too much chaos for putting things aright. (I am inquiring into expanding the amount of time we have access to the room.)

Hi, I'm back in... evidently I had multiple Meetup accounts and had to leave this Meetup and rejoin. Sorry for the confusion - I am co-hosting the May 30 drumming meetup in Sunnyvale - that's the Friday after Memorial Day weekend. See you then!
