Verona's to Sting Rayz at Knights Landing

My favorite cruise

Sunday let's do it ...Sacramento Riviera route through the Fremont Weir State Wildlife area (on the way to Sting Rayz Wild Life area ;).

This is open to all - boat owners and crew, and by car ;)

• Click here for StingRayz website
23000 Cranmore Rd, Knights Landing, CA ‎(530)[masked] ‎

• Verona Marina does not have a web site but the address is: 6955 Garden Hwy, Nicolaus, CA 95659, (about 7 miles north of Swabbie's, or about 1 mile north of Rio Ramaza Marina).

Verona is a great launch place for small to medium sized boats $10. Rio Ramaza still has the incline launch machine, and the public launch ramp near Swabbie's is great for all boats.

The run is about 8 miles and should take about an hour or so even at a slow pace. The idea is to eat lunch at Sting Rays and then spend the afternoon floating back down to Verona.

I have checked the water depth recently and a number of times and it is about 10 - 15 feet deep. I have talked with owners who draw 7 feet and have had no problems. That being said give all the corners a wide birth and watch out for branches sticking up near the shore and occasional drift wood. There should be plenty of room even for large boats if you take it slow.

There is a bridge at knights landing with a 22 foot clearance at MHW it can be opened by calling (916)[masked] hours in advance. If anyone needs that just call them with your exact arrival time. Mind you that you can anchor before the bridge or dock on the opposite side of the river before the bridge and just walk across the bridge to Sting Rays Resort if you are taller than 22 feet. I believe there is actually more clearance than 22 feet most of the time. If you have a dingy it would be good to bring it.

Here is the route:

Here is a view of the general area. Note there are several fishing boats rafted in front of Sting Rays.. the river is plenty wide for turning etc. Sting Rays Dock is about 200 feet long.

Here is a close up of the Knights landing bridge showing Sting Rays (under the trees- And yes Sting Rays Beach Resort is there under the trees). Bridge clearence is 22 feet at high water.
