Carpooling:

Please carpool to events whenever possible. The high cost of gas and maintaining a vehicle make this a very sensible option for vehicle owners and allows those without a car to get to the events. While vehicle owners are free to set their own reasonable fee for carpooling, it is typically suggested that passengers offer the driver $5.00 per hour of driving (includes mileage and vehicle wear & tear). Please state in your RSVP whether you can offer a ride or need a ride, and where you will be coming from. Passengers, please ensure you show up on time and bring an extra bag for wet/muddy footwear and clothing. Also, please make every effort to get to a convenient pick up place for your driver!

Please do not leave carpooling arrangements until the last minute – you, not the event organizer, are responsible for arranging your own carpooling to events. Thanks!

Hi Espeth and Hana: would you be able to let us know what items to bring, other than hiking items, though do you think a snow axe is needed or full crampons? Are the cabins fully equipped with towels, bedding, etc. etc.?

I volunteer at the Baker Lodge operated by Mountaineers.Org. If you run out of lodging room, Baker lodge, which is the closest accommodations to Artist point and across from Chair 1, can host up to 70 guests. Bunk beds, hot showers, clothes drying room, hearty hot breakfast and dinner, packed lunch, fireplace, library, etc. for about $50/night for non-members, $43/night for members. Proceeds go to nature conservation education and projects. Great views of Mt. Shuksan from rooms. No hot tub though.
