Rich Rudow presents "Canyoneering the Obsession in Grand Canyon"

Join Rich Rudow as he presents a talk about a Grand Canyon expedition with Todd Martin that included their technical exploration of Obsession Canyon.

What started as river trip Rudow took in 1989 has morphed into a passion for finding the hidden beauty lying deep within Grand Canyon’s limestone slots. Rudow was named one of Outside Magazine’s Adventurers of the year in 2012 for both leading an audacious canyoneering river trip and an expedition to descend a particularly difficult Grand Canyon slot called Obsession.

Dan Ransom’s film, Last Of The Great Unknown, profiles the Obsession Canyon descent and has been seen by more than 200,000 people around the World as part of the Banff Mountain Film World tour and the Telluride Mountain Film World tour. You’ll also find some of Rich’s exploits profiled in Backpacker Magazine, Outside Magazine and on ABC TV’s Nightline.

Rudow sits on the board of directors for American Canyoneers, is on the Executive Council of the American Packrafting Association, but is probably best known for having his mug on the cover of Todd Martin’s award winning guidebook, Grand Canyoneering.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
