We're heading up to Zion to day hike and backpack over Labor Day weekend. The backpack destination will be determined by what walk-up permit we're able to get - but Zion is an amazing place and all of the hikes are incredible.
We will leave Friday after work and come home Monday, - Labor Day. Friday evening we will camp at the Paria Guest Ranch north of Page, AZ. Early Saturday morning, we will drive to Zion NP and set-up camp at Watchman Campground inside the Park. We’ll have all day to explore and get some hikes in. Angel’s Landing is always a good choice.
Sunday morning we'll start our backpacking trip. We will camp Sunday night and hike out Monday morning. We will be out by noon on Monday and home late that evening.
There will be costs for campground and park entrance fees that we'll split equally.
We are planning to get walk up permits Saturday morning. If we get shut out on a Zion hike, we’ll move to plan B and do Parunuweap Canyon just outside the Park. Either way, plan on a spectacular trip.
