This will be an easy and fun 6 mile (each way) backpacking trip along a beautiful perennial stream in the Eastern Superstitions! We've done this trip many times and always have a great time.
The trail is north of Superior and entails a drive through an open pit copper mine to get to the trailhead. The relatively flat and well used trail follows the pretty perennial stream to a scenic valley with reliable water. Expect lots of old growth cottonwoods and sycamores along the way. The valley is an old homestead and includes a historic cabin.
We'll enjoy some cocktails and laughs around the camp fire Saturday evening.
We'll return using the same route on Sunday. We'll stop in Globe for some Mexican food before heading home.
