Backpacking to Reavis Ranch from the north. (good for fit beginners)

We'll be hiking in from the north (Reavis) trail-head. Not going? No need to RSVP. It's easiest but longest way in at nine miles. Starting off with great views of Apache lake to the north we gradually climb towards our destination passing Castle dome on our way. Once we reach Reavis Ranch we have many campsites to choose from and water from creek. Once camp is setup the old apple orchard and cabin foundation is there for exploration. This is always a good trip and a particularly good trip for fit beginners. If you have and questions about gear, conditions to expect, contact me through the site.

I would be prepared for nighttime temperatures of low thirties

Very good camping spot. Apples were still there and tasted good. Water in the creek.

Will there be some trees in the area to hang my hammock?

Would love to join you all but can't get down to the valley (from Show Low) until Thanksgiving. Plan to do this trip on 11-23/24.
    Are you sure there's water?

Hi Sare: Yes, there is water in Reavis Creek. Check at the east end of the valley near the Fireline Trail junction.
