Black Canyon Canoe, Hiking, and Hot Springs Trip

This is one of the Southwest's great weekend trips!

We'll enjoy an easy float/paddle trip on the Colorado River though spectacular Black Canyon.  No prior canoe experience is needed.  We will paddle/float a relaxing 11.5 miles from the Hoover Dam to Willow Beach over two days.  Expect to experience hot springs, waterfalls, sauna caves, wildlife, crystal-clear green water and to learn a bit about the history of the this part of the Colorado River.

We are using an outfitter to obtain permits, rent the canoes and take care of the shuttling. The cost for everything, including the campground fees, is $117/person.

We'll camp/crash Friday evening at the Willow Beach campground.  Early Saturday morning, the outfitters will pick us up and shuttle us to the launch point at the base of Hoover Dam. We will put in just below the dam then paddle/float to Goldstrike Canyon and Arizona Hot Springs.  We'll spend the day hiking and exploring the very fun side canyons.

Saturday evening's camp will be at AZ Hot Springs, just off the river.  We'll enjoy an evening campfire and a cocktail or two.

Sunday morning we'll paddle down to Willow Beach and our waiting vehicles.

You need to know that the monies paid are non-refunable and non-transferable.  Check your schedule carefully before signing up. No refunds.

I'm going to bring a grill for Saturday dinner if anyone wants to bring something to BBQ or a foil wrapped dinner.

I did this last year and I'd do it again. I'll let you know very soon if I can make it. I will be in the Moab for NewYears and the timing might work out.
Till then and I'll let you know very soon.
