Jessica Perilla (on Marketing and Branding)
Founder & Creative Director of JPD Studio Inc.
With a background in both web technology and design – she holds degrees in multi-media development and management and graphic design – Jessica has worked in the field of web design since 2000. In addition to making her clients’ visions come alive through her passion for design, Jessica is a web design instructor and teaches in English and Spanish at her alma mater, the School of Visual Arts. She serves on the Advisory Board at the College of Westchester, where she helps guide digital media curriculum for the school. Jessica donates murals to hospitals through her organization, The Mural Project. She is also the founder of Web2Fem, an organization that strives to inspire, empower and encourage women entrepreneurs.
Laurie Marshall (on Trademarking)
She is the owner of TradeMarks The Spot, a business designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners protect their intellectual property, specifically their trademarks. Laurie has been a trademark attorney for over 17 years and has worked for several well-known firms in New York City. She also spent 10 years as Major League Baseball's in-house counsel. Her client list includes many professional baseball and football organizations and hundreds of entrepreneurs who have started their small businesses in a variety of industries. Laurie is on the Advisory Board of Big Apple Entrepreneurs and speaks regularly on trademarks at venues such as General Assembly, In Good Company, Green Spaces, FIT and NYIT. Laurie is also a Venture in Residence at the NYIT Entrepreneur Center. Additionally, Laurie's TradeMarks The Spot business was a finalist in the Make Mine A Million Competition sponsored by American Express, Open Forum and Count Me In.
Alexandra Chou (on Strategic Planning)
She is a NYS CPA, who has previously worked at a Big 4 accounting firm performing auditing and consulting services for Fortune 500 businesses. Subsequently, she worked at an investment bank conducting operational reviews for the private equity and private banking segments. At the investment bank, she also obtained her Series 7 and 63 licenses. She combines her accounting background with her experience in the financial sector to assist start-ups and small business owners with taxes, creating viable business plans, and implementing strategic plans to grow your company.
