June 24 Brooklyn Futurist Meetup: NYC welcomes iMakr, Largest 3D Printing Store

Please join us June 24th at the new iMakr 3D Printing Store, opening in Manhattan a few days earlier. This is an official Brooklyn Futurist Meetup. They’ve reserved an evening for our members featuring a short intro by the store manager, demos, designers from iMakr's download platform - MyMiniFactory, Q&A and amazing objects using materials you probably haven’t seen. Limited refreshments will be served. The talks and demos will start about 7:30.

Attendees, please note:

We have posted the Lower East Side store address: 152 Allen Street. Easy to reach from F subway (either Delancey St or 2nd Av) or J, Z (Bowery). You must rsvp on our site to attend and store space is currently limited to about 50. Based on past experience, the top 100 or so rsvps should be able to get in – depending on no-shows. I will be there at 6:30pm and event starts at 7:00pm. Earliest to show up with RSVP will be first to get in. All guests must rsvp on our meetup site separately.  Free admission.

    I really wish I could join the Meetup. Not only we can use 3D printing technology for developing and conceptualising and manufacturing purposes but also as new realm for interaction and experiments with materials and forms. It give as another dimension for transforming our ideas into the physical space. Now our imagination becomes the definitive factor. We can close the

    3D printing applications have gone well-beyond the proof-of-concept stage in many areas (manufacturing, creative, health care, fashion, etc.) and it is great that the general public (and interested technologists and futurists) now have hands-on access to 3D printing products and technology right in our own backyards (Manhattan and Brooklyn). There are so many business opportunities in front of us locally as well of globally as this technology improves and gains more wide-spread use.

    Store staff (and meeting participants) were very open and helpful in sharing and brainstorming. Have been and will continue to follow this are of innovation.

      Sorry, the executives who would deliver that content were unable to make the date at relative last moment and I decided to maintain the event as planned. Wired magazine did a good cover story on it last year.
