Introduction

I'm a Ruby/Erlang/Java developer with an interest in distributed systems, operating systems, programming languages and functional programming. Currently living in Sydney, but looking to hear about real world usage of NoSQL solutions.

How long have you been a NoSQL user/tinkerer?

NoSQL has been on my tech radar for a number of years but haven't had a chance to build any large NoSQL solutions. Hoping to change that in the near future.

Do you have a preferred NoSQL category (Graph Database, KV Store, etc)? If so, which one?

No preferred NoSQL category, whatever fits the purpose best. Fanaticism (fanboy-ism) is something I try to avoid.

Do you have a preferred NoSQL database? If so, which one?

So far Riak, mostly cause of the Erlang core and clustering/availability it provides.

What would you like to see, do and learn while being part of BNoSQL?

Looking to hear about people's experiences with NoSQL solutions in real world applications. The How/Why/WhyNot of using NoSQL.
