This years Plain Wrap Ride was the first time I participated in the event, and the 30 mile ride was a really good route with some good climbs. What a really nice event for great cause. Really enjoyed riding with everyone, and I hope to do it again next year.

Great Bobie turnout! Again, thanks to Janet and Keith for all the hard work to put this club together. Sorry we missed the photo ops and start line accolads, Wayne and I started @7:30 from Baseline and Live Oak Canyon near our houses. Nice seeing some Bobie friends along the ride.

I enjoyed my first time here at the Plain Wrap Ride. Very fun to be a large presence among several other cycling clubs. I think we had close to 50, not counting the 4 guests Ric brought that I am sure will join us soon...yeah more cycling buddies! There were 9 ladies and 1 hubby in our 30 mile BOBie group ride! Thankful for Sylvia's company bringing up the rear as we finished the ride. Sincere apologies to Mike and Hilda for losing you at the start but happy we realized it soon enough! Nice to meet DeeAnne, and to see our Orange County BOBie friends too!

We would not be Diddley Squat without all of our friends NEW and OLD! Our mind set is to pay it forward.

I was truly proud to be part of this great group of cyclists and friends. It was good to see some new BoBie's and see some that I have not seen for a while. I enjoyed riding with Ed, Wayne, Rick, Dana, DeeAnne, Kathy, Stephen and a few more as well as folks from other groups.
Great job Chris Manuit, it was a pleasure riding with you the entire way.
    Thanks everyone for representing today.
Thanks also to several BoBie friends for joining us.

Thanks to Keith, who kept me company throughout the entire ride (and sacrificing his Strava PR) to provided me with some very valuable pointers, not to mention his thumbs up (seal of encouragement) every time I huffed and puffed my way through every hill. We also met other BOBies in the event, Danny, Ed and Cindy, whom I haven't met before and it never seizes to amaze me how friendly and nice all of you are. I really am glad to be a part of this group.

What a perfect day. Planned to start w/arm warmers on, glad I left them in my vehicle. A few hiccups along the way.. Well at least we didn't lose anyone...... just forgot. :( Major kiss up to Hilda on the next few rides. LOL What a great showing for a great cause. Many thanks to all the volunteers and organizers.

    Hi BOBie's,
Tomorrow morning is the Plain Wrap Ride...if you haven't signed up ....you can sign up in the morning ($35.00) remember to update your RSVPs here on the BOBie ride posting. Thanks to Greg Armstrong and Coates Cyclery, for every paid BOBie registration, $10 is donated to One More Move, a charity that gets bikes to kids, so its important for us to know who is going.

Our BOBie Cycling Group has over 47 RSVPs...way to represent!

BOBie GROUP PICS...Please wear your BOBie apparel if you have one. Look for Keith or Janet (parking in the shopping center directly across from Coates) and gather for a group pic at 7:30 for 60 milers, and 8:30 for 30 milers. Remember to hydrate well and get a good nights sleep. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the morning.

Janet, I spoke to one of the Plain Wrap Ride coordinator earlier today and she confirmed that the police department has given them the permission to use the adjacent lot for parking during the event.

Had all intentions of riding the metric century but my sons baseball teams won their playoff games earlier this week and advanced. Both of their next games are in the AM Saturday. Going to miss the ride. Everyone have fun and be safe!

    May 17, 2013

    • Stephen T.

I know the feeling. The only reason I can ride is my son's team was eliminated this week. I also need to head up to Santa Barbara for my daughters dance team tryouts at UCSB Sat afternoon so I have to do the shorter ride.
