I am 51 today, 12/10/14. Volunteering is how I give back for the services I have received. It is my life's work to help those in need. I choose to not sit on the sidelines and hope I am making a difference. COMMUNITY! COMPASSION! GENEROSITY!
Nice time together with a great group of guys while raising $984.23 At Empty Your Drawers. 85% were new memebers who were on their first or second event and/or never heard of AIDS Emergency Fund. They took charge and made the fundraiser there own. They didn't mind getting their hands dirty for four hours standing on the street corner asking for money. It was a throwback to the beginning days of the agency when community awareness all it took. Thank you to Phiam for helping with the co-hostin duties and Ethen for volunteering to chaufer me and the supplies to and from AEF. HE also donated the drinks and snacks for the volunteers during the event. One bundred percent of ALL funds riassed truly are going back to the community in the form of grants for 2 new clients that would not have been able to access our services. This was a crazy group of guys that had fun and worked hard while making a difference in our commnity. To date, Bridgemen have raised over $2,035 for AEF and EPC.
