Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Field Trip

[masked]: The trip is still on!

[masked] UPDATE:  Let's monitor the flooding situation in Austin today to determine if we should trek to Austin tomorrow.  I'll post updates here tonight.

Sorry everyone but I had to change the date on this one! I hope that doesn't cause anyone to miss out!

Many of you suggested a trip to the Wildflower Center. The Center is open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Saturday and 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults.  I thought  an early morning tour would have better available light.

Is there any interest in a guided group tour? If so, please reply by July 1st to allow me time to submit the request to the center.

We need a minimum of 15 participants to have a guided group tour of the facilities that will begin at 9:30AM. The Center closes at 5:00 PM so I thought  an early morning tour would have better available light. The tour fee will be  $10 per person if we have 15 or more participants.

More to come about transportation and lunch...

For anyone that went on the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Field Trip and happen to take a picture of the cute frog on the lily pad near the entrance. The Frog is a Rio Grande Leopard Frog. The one we have around locally and common is the Southern Leopard Frog.

Once again, I had a great time!!!!

That's alright! Dun Skipper it is. It's so cool that you and Carol know the names of the animals and the insects.

Thanks Carol for arranging this meet up and for allowing Lynne and I to ride with you. Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center was a fabulous place to enjoy nature and take wildflower and insect pictures. A most enjoyable Saturday indeed!!!!

I had a great time. Thanks to Carol for doing the driving. If was fun discussing photography for 4 hours in the car with Carol and Stanley. It was hot but the clouds covered the sun most of the time so we had great light.

I can take 3 to 4 pasengers in my car. I live near the elementary school on Rock Prairie and that seems to be a good place to park a car a leave it for the day. I plan to leave about 8:00 AM, since we don't have a specific time we HAVE to be there. Please let me know if you want to ride with me.

Carol, is it still OK to apply for this activity? If so, I could ask some friends whether they will go with us.
