I've posted a lot of info about this below but you will still have to register with www.bigdogsofffroad.com and sign up for the events you want to attend. You'll see a big variety of them that will suit everyone from pro rigs to newbie spectators so don't be shy about attending this if you are new to the jeep world. The photo i've posted is from 2009 and the event has grown every year. You'll see hundreds of jeeps and other off road creations rolling around. This is one giant party and also offers something a little unusual for a lot of us which are group trail rides at night. There is a facebook page they run as well so you can check out photos of past events.

@Brian Lopez, We will have our 8yo and our neighbor who is 9yo, (and our 8 months old baby). they will be bringing their mountain bikes! We will prob camp somewhere central. camp 6 is known to be the loud one but they have tamed down a bunch. We have been working on my LJ and hope to have it done by this weekend, if it is, we will be doing the begginer/ intermediate trails.

    April 23, 2013

    • Brian J L.

I plan on picking my son up from school and then driving right there. we should be arriving around just before 6pm. so we can get our camp set up. What time will you be arriving? and the part about looking over the jeep, i might just have to take you up on that since it has never been through this yet. Unfortunately, i will not have any extra room to bring his bike. It looked as though it was going to be a full weekend of stuff to do, so i had not planned on that.

      April 23, 2013

    • Maria W.

We will be there around 4. Thats okay, they can share the bikes. We will see you there!

cell phones work on some of the trails, but very, very spotty, mine is[masked] I will have it on me. When you get to the registration office, ask them where Whatley Motorsports is camped, they tell you where to find us.
If you do want to camp by us, please let me know if you are bringing tent or a trailer(need electric etc) so when we get there we can give them a heads up.

PS: They do have bathrooms and Warm Showers which is a huge plus :)

@ Paul Warren, so does it look like you are going? do you still need an organizer for this trip? I can take it over if you need me to.

see ya there! and ... whats your name?

      April 23, 2013

  • Maria W.

we will have our 42" race trailer filled with tools to fix pretty much anything that could break. We can also recover your vehicle if you break on the trail.
If you are concerned, we can help you look over your jeep before and/or after. Lets just have a great weekend wheeling! tread lightly!

I'm going to be stuck working this weekend. I really wanted to attend this but it's not going to happen for me this year. The rest of you are going to have a blast. I'm asking for a volunteer to fill the event organizer roll for this. So please speak up if you can do that for us. It's just really a point of contact with only social duties.

Paul have you been before? sent john and email but wanted to get your take on some of the questions that i sent as well.
I know that I will be attending, but don’t know who the second person will be at this time, but I want to get on the list so the rides don’t fill up. Am I able to leave the second person blank and not have any problems?
I would be in the beginner/intermediate runs. How do I schedule via Paypal the runs I want. Do I add this info somewhere on the paypal payment?
I see lunch is served/ or bring your own? And about dinner, are there restaurants and gas stations near by. Camping can we build a fire to cook?
    Thanks.

Part III..... However, you patrons are the boss. You’ll hear me say that at Driver’s Meeting. If for some reason 12 out of 14 vehicles want to come back for lunch, ok. Every ride has one of my guides. The guides know the trails and how to get back the quickest in the case of an emergency. We have emergency procedures, EMTs, paramedics and one doctor at all events.

I'm excited to see the attendance list for this growing. A couple of you I haven't met and some of you I have. I'm confident this will be a lot of fun. I think I'll be camping, hopefully it will warm up by the end of April.

they have a really good description of all the trails on the bigdogsoffroad page. that will be helpful for people to figure out what trails they want to ride so check that out when you get a chance.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
