Women's Toga party

As a follow-up to the Sappho poetry event, we will have a toga party. Yes, this is a costume party. Your costume can be very simple and cheap - just wrap a sheet around yourself! - You can change at my apartment.

If you want to do anything more elaborate, go ahead!

(Actually Greek women wore a "peplos" - but we won't be fussy. You can even be a foreign guest if you would rather dress Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Ethiopian, or from somewhere else in the ancient world.)

We can have more poetry reading. If you like, bring your favorite poem by Sappho, or any other ancient author. But you don't have to read a poem if you don't want to.

Yes, bring potluck food and drink to share - especially Greek or Mediterranean food!

I had a lot of fun. The people present were kind and friendly.

8 women attended. Rachel gave some insightful tarot readings. Toward the end we read some poetry by Sappho, and by other authors.

We have about 10 women attending so far, from my other friends.

I am inviting other women I know, so there will be more attending than appears on our RSVP list.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
