I love all things outdoors, I like to stay very active. I think it is important to live each day to the fullest. As you get to know me you will see I sometimes do 20 things at once, but it works for me. I live for adventure!
I formed this group because I felt there was a need for a ladies only outdoor adventure group in Columbus. I am excited about outdoor adventure and female kinship. I think this group is a good opportunity for women to bond with nature and each other.
I'm currently big and pregnant. I am keeping fit and hoping to bounce back quickly. I'm due October 10th so I will be taking it easy till winter and plan be back in condition next spring. In the mean time I am taking things slow and have Lori doing our more strenuous hikes.
I enjoy; Hiking, Camping/Backpacking, Climbing, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding, Kayaking, Canoeing, Swimming, Trail Running, Snowboarding and Ziplining . I also like just hanging out by the camp fire and relaxing. I would like to surf again, I also want to try snorkeling.
Starting Babes in the Woods was the next logical step in a long journey of outdoor experiences. I have been hiking since I could walk, and camping since I was a little baby, my parents were very into the outdoors. I was a scout for years as a kid, then went on to be a summer camp counselor where I developed a passion for teaching others about nature. I have also worked as a canoe instructor/river guide and water safety instructor. I taught rock climbing for a summer job on an outdoor rock wall in Bellefontaine Ohio. I have volunteered with wildlife rehabs and also on a trail building and maintenance crew. I have been certified as a lifegaurd, first aid, cpr, and am planning to get my wilderness first responder certificate in the spring. I love working with people and being outdoors. I have been running Babes in the Woods full time for the past couple years and it is a dream come true.
My coolest outdoor adventure experience was probably a sea kayaking/mountain biking trip I took down in southern California, we got to kayak into caves and were surrounded by sea lions, turtles, and what we hope was a dolphin, although it could have been a shark. The next day we went mtn biking out in the desert and it was so beautiful I actually didn't mind my rented bike. Closely tied is the summer I lived in a tree house and taught canoeing to teens. My favorite place to hike in Ohio is actually on a friends privet property, Ill tell you its southern Ohio, but can revel no more ;)
"my cell is 614-330-7250 please only call between 9am-9pm (unless its before an early hike) feel free to contact me for anything at all (email or phone) "
It is a fun diverse group with a lot of opportunity to challenge yourself, and a great place to make new friends.

Thank you, Lindsey and congrats on the bundle of joy! So happy for you.
I am sure I will be ok on the trail. I still remained active by walking and hiking and I recently dropped 50 pounds. On top of that I have began exercising about five times a week (on top of transitioning to become a vegetarian). I am a little faster on my legs but still a ways to go...but I am determined to get there! Good luck with the bundle of joy and look forward to seeing you again real soon!
Thanks for posting it Lindsey!! I hope to get back out to see you all soon. I sooooo wanted to do SUP! Looks awesome! Hope you're doing well with the big day approaching!! :)
I definitely will check it out! Thanks!!
